For this story we watched shrek and at first I was not sure how it related to the poem. I thought we were watching it because he was green and the title says Green Knight, after watching it i realized why that group had chosen that movie. Sir Gawain and the Green Knight is a poem that focuses on the code of chivalry which is being brave, courteous, and having honor.
Shrek was a knight in this movie because he kept his word about bringing the princess to the king and by doing that in a way he also brought honor to himself. Though he and Fiona did not get along sometime, he did have respect for her and this shows he was a knight. I am really glad we read this story because if we had not I would have never thought of shrek as a knight.
I was thinking the same thing when we watched Shrek. At first I was a little confused as to why we were watching it, but because we'd just finished reading the Green Knight, I watched the movie from a different perspective, and I was able to relate Shrek with Sir Gawain. (:
